Lens Technology & Product Information

Choosing the right lens is just as important as selecting the perfect frame. Different lens technologies and colours can enhance visual comfort, improve contrast, reduce glare, and optimise your vision for specific environments and activities.

New Zealand experiences some of the highest UV levels in the world, making quality UV protection important year-round, even on cloudy days.
All of our sunglasses provide 100% UV protection, blocking both UVA and UVB rays.
Long-term exposure to ultraviolet radiation can contribute to eye damage and visual discomfort. Wearing sunglasses with 100% UV protection helps safeguard your eyes while reducing eye strain in bright outdoor conditions.

Benefits:

• Blocks 100% of harmful UVA and UVB rays.
• Helps support long-term eye health.
• Reduces eye strain and squinting in bright sunlight.
• Essential for all outdoor activities.

Polarised Lenses
Polarised lenses are engineered to reduce intense reflected glare from flat surfaces such as roads, water, sand, and snow.
Unlike standard tinted lenses, polarised lenses contain a specialised filter that blocks horizontally reflected light, helping to improve visual comfort in highly reflective environments.
Benefits
• Significantly reduces reflected glare and water reflections
• Can improve visual clarity and perceived contrast.
• Enhances comfort during prolonged outdoor use.
• Helps reduce eye fatigue in bright conditions.
Ideal For
• Driving
• Fishing and boating
• Beach and coastal environments
• Water sports
• Everyday outdoor wear
Polarised vs Non-Polarised
Both polarised and non-polarised lenses can provide 100% UV protection. The key difference is that polarised lenses actively reduce glare, making them particularly beneficial in highly reflective environments.
Please note that polarised lenses may affect the visibility of certain digital screens, dashboards, and LCD displays depending on viewing angle.

Choosing Lens Colours
Lens colour affects visual comfort, contrast, and depth perception, but does not determine UV protection. All lens colours in our range provide 100% UV protection.
